Essence of Spirituality
Jay Baba Huuuuuuuuuuu....... see what i got today! "....People use a lot of fancy words and expressions to describe God or God-consciousness. Avatar. Paramatman. The Beyond Beyond. The Infinite Ocean of Divine Bliss. Samadhi. etc. etc. The Buddha never used the word God, and many people consider Buddhism to be a philosophy rather than a Religion. Yet Baba calls Him one of the Avatars. The Buddha refers to The Oneness or just Oneness, and this seems to me like the essence of Spirituality..........finding / experiencing this Oneness. The fancy names just seem like an unnecessary complication and distraction. Truth is usually simple or elegant, and the more profound the truth, the more simple and elegant..........E = mC2.
The idea that only God is real is better expressed as only Oneness is real....and separateness is just a delusion of the senses and rational mind. To me, and most people, the word God always suggests some sort of Divine Being, and probably a very judgmental one, to be feared or adored. How can you fear or adore Oneness ?Truth is abstract, but most people cannot comprehend abstractions so we 'personalize' God. If we accept that the purpose of life is to find / experience this Oneness (God), and thus free ourselves from the manyness-separateness of Duality, then the obvious question is where do we find this Oneness ? And the very simple, non-mystical / spiritual / religious answer is......... in the heart. In fact, the heart is this Oneness, when you manage to remove all the crap that obscures the heart such as emotion.........which has it's origin as ego-mind thought. The truth is not arcane or esoteric. It's extremely simple...........or that's what I firmly believe. In His Infinite Grace......... may He awaken us from our dreaming / imagining !!!!!!!"Ameen, ameen, ameen
The 'cost' of 'getting God'!

Jay Baba and thanks Him for this....came from webmaster of www.jaibaba.com, this morning, a reply, the first one, to my ad there, regarding the MOBILE MASS MEDIA project in Meherabad.

IF Baba is what He is.....
just typed these words of Baba from The Avatar, Vol.4, 20th May 1985, No.18...... that 'if', in the beginning is very interesting.... the emphasis is mine (as usual!) "if I am what I am, it is all the more natural for you, not to be able to understand all that i wish to express; and why at all I say all that I say.....It has been going on like this for thousands of thousands of years.... If I am The Highest of the High, i know best why jesus was crucified and whu Mohammad was stoned.... For all the so-called 'good' and 'bad' things said about them, by the so-called good and bad people. They do not understand next to nothing about Christ and Mohammad, about Ram and Krishna, Zoroaster, and Buddha, and about all the things that they said and did. For all its power of achievement in the gross sphere, the faculty of human knowledge has its limitations within the intellect. None is at fault therefore, just as child is not held responsible for the things which are beyond the power of its understanding. But all things have their uses. Baba is The Witness now = 'unity of all life'
Jay Jay Baba.... speaking about the 'separateness of ego' and 'unity of all life' in the previous posts, just typed the following from an old magazine, The Avatar, Vol.2, July 5th, 1983, No.21..... Also, working simultaneously on my idea of having a new 'mass media service', these words of Baba gives us direction AND encouragement.... enjoy...... "On the path, the most important condition of discipleship is readiness to work for the spiritual cause of bringing humanity closer and closer to the realization of God..... I have full confidence that you will, not only inherit it for yourselves the Truth which I bring, but also become enthusiastic and violent torch-bearers for humanity, which is enveloped in deep ignorance. Because of its supreme importance for the true and final well-being of humanity, spiritual work has a natural and imperative calim on all who love humanity...... Jay Baba........ in a symbolic move to show Hossein Derakhshan(hoder) that his approach to politics is 'insane' and VERY CUNNING (asking Iranian women to support the nuclear ambitions of the regime to gain access to sports complexes!) i deleted his link (as a news source) in all my blogs and replace Google News for the time being. Hope this can be a 'wake up' call for him to repent and stop his 'sickening suggesions'!
But without love, how can there be some freedom and justice? HOW?
This morning i received an invitation to sign a petition for the freedom of at least two Iranian students, recently captured (kidnapped) by the 'authorities' who have occupied our beloved Iran, since 1979. http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/webliberty-iran/I have signed it, you are also welcome to.....Not only i feel symapathy and compassion for those who are in captivity of the 'unloving' ones, i also feel pity and compassion for those who do such evil things.... Ignorance is so strong that they REALLY do not know what they are doings! Harming others fellow beings JUST to stay in 'power'? what else except ignorance can do such harm to ALL? __ including those who harm others.... That is why a NEW EDUCATION SYSTEM is needed for those who are in power, to teach them the oneness of all life!The only problem is that the 'oppressors' will not be 'present' in such a system! They will be 'absent' always! The 'trick' is how to make it so 'loving' that those 'love-less' ones also become interested to participate! i think it IS POSSIBLE, accepting the difficulties and obstacles for making such a system! The real problem is that even if the present regime is somehow toppled, another 'love-less' class will come to replace it. But without love, how can there be some freedom and justice? HOW?

Jay Baba..... it seems that things are going well in some 'unseen' levels.... this morning among my mails were 2, which i will use them as 2 posts here..... Some words from Goethe, which i feel it had already applied to my past and WILL apply to my present situation, regarding the new Baba-project.... i share it with you, for your OWN 'projects'!!.... "The moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decisions, raising in one's favor, all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it." Begin it now. -Johann Wolfgang von Goethe may be that is why i already 'begun' the project, in some ways, at least!
Ego = separate-self vs. Love = The Self
Jay Baba.... we have this kind of 'net-cussion' (discusion on the net!) with a dear brother and his today's email was very interesting and has key points to ponder upon.... it is 'oven-fresh' and revealing..... enjoy (the emphasis is mine!)"....Love overcomes separateness / duality if it's pure-perfect. ….What is this 'individual self' ? It is a false perception, a mere imagination or dream. Not real !! As Baba says, the individual self...the perception of separate individuality, must be abandoned. It is our attachment to the 'separate self' that stops us realizing that we are The Self, The Infinite Oneness. …. God is not 'somebody' to please.....some sort of ultimate father-figure or authority-figure. God is a level of conciousness / awareness where one becomes aware that one is ALL, both formed and beyond form. I'm not negating anything as long as it's percieved as being part of The Oneness / ALL, rather than as a separate bit. The celebration is a celebration of The Indivisible Oneness / ALL that lies within each one of us........Kabir's Pearl that we must dive deep within to find and firmly grasp. If we make the required effort-sacrifice to do this then Baba-God will surely help us, but we are not doing it to 'please Him'. We are merely returning to the home / bliss we once enjoyed, and then lost. You can only fear or desire a person or God if you feel separate to them. The greater your fear or desire, the greater your feeling of separation (Baba talks about this), but it is the stupid separative ego that fears and desires. If we can just totally let go of our fears and desires, then the resulting feeling of separateness also goes. Separateness does not exist, it is just a conception or perception of the stupid separative ego-mind / body-senses.

something delicious is 'cooking' here!
HuuuuuBabaHuuuuuu.... good news of loving ON THE WAY..... i am working on them to MAKE THEM! what to do? it seems that this blog is a 'one man show', BUT it does not satisfy me and i am after making others INVOLVED! Sorry i cannot 'announce' it now, since it is being 'cooked' in a 'slow cooker' to keep the nutritions AND the flavor....if this 'meal' is as delicious as my usual cookings, then it IS a GOOD news of loving, indeed! for now i just post a few pictures which i took with my mobile phone, making up for so much 'text'..... Shivani and her brother Raju, with their 'poor toy'! They play so affectionaly and sometime SO 'roughly' with the kitten that i feel sorry for it sometime. Yet they feed it and kiss it and give their various emotions to the 'living toy'! Below are sister Raju and her children, familiar faces for Baba-lovers in Delhi. They live with the family in Baba-Center and maintain and protect the property. i spend sometimes in the evenings with them and the whole family love me very much, i feel. This one i received yesterday from dear brother Darryl Smith, USA. We went last year, (November?) with a lovely group of us, to see the Alora caves and the Valley of The Saints.....First in the small size in gmail, i saw only the old structure and the land. Today after he asked me if i liked the photo, i saw it in a bigger scale and saw that 'dot', sitting on the Holy Land, waving to them.....

Huuuuuuuuu Grace Depend Upon Love “ True worship is an expression of devotion, not just saying prayers and making supplications. For you to worship me truly, it is necessary for you to have my grace. What is grace? No bargaining whatsoever is possible in the receiving of grace, and there is absolutely no specific condition for its bestowal. It may be given freely to anyone, whether saint or sinner, intellectual or illiterate, man or woman. Grace is just grace, nothing more and nothing less. Although it is next to impossible, yet it is conceivable that one might become one hundred per cent prepared by one’s own efforts, and thereupon realize God. In such an impossible event, God-realization is not through grace. But if the worst sinner stood before me and I had the whim (lahar), I could make him realize God in less than the flash of a second. That would be grace. At the very instant my grace descends upon you, you also become me and we remain one.
It is easier for me to come as an Avatar than for you to receive my grace. The problem is that once you have been conditioned by duality, there is no end to the conditions, which restrict your ability to receive my grace, therefore it is difficult for my grace to flow from me to you.
That is why it is not as easy as it sounds for me to get the whim to cause you to receive my grace. As a matter of fact, it is flowing sufficiently all the time, to fill one and all receptacles everywhere. There is rarely a vessel, which is not filled with other things. A vessel must first be emptied, before it can be filled by the flow of my grace. It is also my grace which helps a vessel to become completely emptied in the first place.
The sun is now shining brilliantly outside this hall, but the sunlight does not reach you here under the roof. The sun is doing its duty of giving light. You have also to do your duty in removing whatever comes between you and the sun. Unless you break open the roof, how can you ask the sun to pour its light upon you? You have raised this roof of ‘ignorance’ over your own self. Demolish it and you will find that you yourself are the light and you yourself are the sun. Through my grace, a sudden crack in the roof can let the sunlight in on you immediately, but one in a million roofs might thus attract my grace, I am an ocean of grace, but I am also hard as flint when you try to draw that grace from me. The flow of my grace to you depends upon the intensity of your love, for it is love which attracts my grace to you.
Generally, it is rightly said that right time must arrive for grace to descend. Yet, in a particular sense, this is absurd. The contradiction arises because words are never enough to express spiritual truths accurately as they exist in the higher spheres, far above intellect and understanding. Suppose I happen to have the whim to make you realize God __simply because you happen to be near me physically at that moment ___ and you do realize God. That is grace, and it is also the right moment for you. In short, as long as you do not receive grace, the right moment has not come to you. And when you do receive grace, the right moment has come for you. The greatest difficulty lies in the easiest matter. It is most difficult for you to become (knowingly) God, because it is easiest for you to be what you have (unknowingly) been all the time, and what (unknowingly) you will always be, until it is the right moment for grace to descend upon you. ‘Impossible’ and ‘possible’ are opposites in the realm of duality, but truth lies beyond all duality. If on a bright sunlit morning I tell you that ‘it is night’, you will be lying if you agree with me that it is so. But if you do not agree, that will mean I lied to you. Such an impossible situation would not exist if, when I say ‘it is night’, you actually find that it is pitch dark, in broad daylight. For this, you need grace.You can find more or less all of what I am telling you in books of various kinds, but all of those, pale in comparison with the spiritual realities which lead to the one divine reality: God. The time is rapidly approaching when a tidal wave will rise in the ocean of grace, then the usual process by which the water in the rivers flow into the ocean will be reversed and the ocean water will rush through the river beds, be prepared to receive this overflow of grace.” Avatar Meher Baba

A reminder for ALL 'Baba workers'
And see what i have found? Just typed and post it for all of us, who by nature are 'forgetful'! So let us NOT FORGET that the goal of 'working for Baba' is NOT to make our egos FAAAATTTTTTER than what already is, but it is 'draw closer' to Him and become 'dust'! (Easy to say/write it, but when it comes to action? Pride and Anger does not allow!! “The more you work for me, the less important you feel in yourself. Baba on Meherabad /Why Silence is so important Up the Hill?
About Meherabad, Baba says: 1930’s: “ In the future, Meherabad will be like Jerusalem for my spiritual work. It is the best place; it will always be the center of My work.” 1938: “This whole universe is Mine, but this place is especially mine.” After experiencing SOME 'real things' inside that 'center' (The T.O.M.B. = The Omnipresent Meher Baba) myself; and watching the SAME effects on others; AND also after reading Bal Natu's book about the importance of that place, it is NOT just a coincidence that i write about MAINTAINING the silence there! Or is it?! So, here, i ask and beg from ALL the 'baba-lovers' (or 'Baba-likers'!) to respect the silence there (Around the Samadhi i mean!) and leave their 'chit-chats' for OTHER places (the area is vast and they can take their words OUTSIDE the Samadhi area.)The only 'problem' is that people, especially children, LEARN BY EXAMPLE! If the Bhaktas who are somehow 'in charge', do not respect and maintain the silence, how are we going to expect that others do it? ANY IDEA?!
The eroding SILENCE up The Hill and some simple solutions!
HuuuuuuuuuuuuBaba....... sitting in this cyber cafe for hours is not so much fun, but much better than waiting at 'home' (now Baba's Center!) for some 'news' about my Mac! So, i just wrote what i wanted to, about the ways to protect and maintain the SILENCE, up the Hill.... will send a copy to Bhauji to see what can come out of it: “Real things are given and received in silence.” Avatar Meher Baba Some simple solutions for the SERIOUS THREAT of eroding the SILENCE up the Magic Hill
{The following is my personal observations during months of living in Meherabad and visiting other Baba centers.}
0. ANY camera or tape-recorder placed inside and around the Samadhi area will reveal that the unique silence of that sacred spot is slowly slowly, BUT SURELY, is eroding.
1.It is somehow ‘natural’ that the ‘energy level’ rises, AFTER the Arti (Baba's prayers and songs of praise). Untrained minds tend to ‘equalize’ such state by immediately engaging in talking. Up the Hill, this definitely disturbs the silence, for those who are there to get ‘the real thing’. Some people think that when the arti is finished, then they are allowed to talk INSIDE the Samadhi, while such behavior disturbs the concentration of others who are still in the queue to have Baba’s Darshan. One simple solution for this, as is practiced in Baba’s centers in Delhi and Dehradun, is to maintain ONE MINUTE OF SILENCE, immediately AFTER the Arti, to check the wandering minds and keep them ready for the next move (leaving the place, in silence, and letting others enjoy Baba’s presence there.)
2. That small board just outside the Tomb, near the bench is NOT sufficient to maintain the silence, because people, usually those who are ‘supposed to keep it, break the silence, right there and near the entrance. There is a need for a new ‘duty’, SOKUT-BAAN =‘silence-watcher’ {like Paas-baan = security guard, or Baagh-baan = gardener, etc.} His/her ‘duty’ is NOT to break the silence by his/her own WORDS, but to maintain it by a gentle stroke on a ‘special five-metal Tibetan bell’, upon hearing disturbing noises inside and outside the Samadhi.
3. People tend to use the SAME VOLUME of voice, coming up to the Samadhi, and going Down the Hill (now, going UP, towards the new retreat!). This also disturbs the silence because the noise can be heard from LONG distance. Few signs to remind them to lower the volume of their voices are necessary to remind people of such alteration.
4. Also, it is natural to forget to turn the mobiles off while coming and going to the Samadhi area. Few written signs are needed for this, as well.
Anyway........

The 'juice' of Bhau's recent message!
Jay Baba to all.... just received Bhauji's Message for the Opening of Meher Pilgrim Retreat at Meherabad, by email. The follwing is the 'juice' of the message: ".... The greatest thing that the Beloved has given (and which He continues to give), is the blessing of His Divine Presence in our hearts. Jay Baba....again i need to say that i am NOT interested or involved in politics at all, yet it does not mean that i can ignore the facts and the realities which goes on in my mother land.... the news from Iran is NOT so loving! Once again, Iranian women have taken the lead to oppose the oppression and we, men, should get a lesson from their courage.....
New Baba Center in Yaqut Ganj, UP/back to Delhi
Jay Baba....long time, no post! The bus ride from Dehradun to Farrukhabad was fun. Wish i had a AV recorder to r\capture some of the scenes and the noises on the way....Got off from the bus around 2:30 am in a street where there were only some dogs hanging around! But thanks Babaji and to the Saxena family coordination, i could find 2 cycle-riskshaws to take me where uncle PB saxena came to guide them to Yaqut Ganj... what a wonderful ride in the dark and empty streets and the road....after about 40 minutes ride arrived at the place, which is on the road side and open fields on both sides..... a new beautiful small 'Samadhi-shaped' mandir and a big satsang hall next to it.... did not sleep the rest of the night and spent it inside the mandir.... very fine vibrations there..... the mella was to start the next day (sat. 10th) and the day passed without sleep, getting familiar with the people and the surrounding. In the afternoon, took a ride on the tractor to the nearby villages, with the daff, to announce the 'function' (the 2 day mella or gathering of Baba lovers), playing along with the music ..... was my first CLOSE encounter with the typical Inidan village life.... As usual, surprized welcoming looks from the people, MANY children following the tractor.... i was the only 'foreigner' in the mella and maybe they have not seen one for a long time!... the whole event has been recorded on DVD and hope i get a copy to share with you sometime..... the facilities for accomodation could be more adequate and they promised to prepare them in future....The saxena family were very kind and loving and wanted me to stay for a longer period there, but i just could not. May be next time, when the facilities are developed..... the train ride from Farrukhabad to Delhi with all my luggage was another challenge, which went fine.... arrived in Delhi on Tuesday the 13th and straight to Baba center, where i could rest and make up for the sleepless nights at Yaqut Ganj... started my yogasanas here again after SO long... Now i need to find a place to fix my Apple Mac laptop here.......... it is a challenge for me to come here __ Nehru Place, (70-100 Rs. round trip with rikshaw), a very huge commercial complex __ and check my mail everyday! Never underestimate the power of your actions/ on Friendship
Jay Baba.... on the last night at Baba's Brindavan (Dehradun), received this email from my brother Brian Garnant....a nice real story on friendship.... hope you like it and are inspired by it..... Jay Jay Babaji................ ".... We all know or knew someone like this!! One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd." I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, "Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives." "He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!" There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked h im why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends He said yes. We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him. Monday morning came! , and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, "Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday! "He just laughed ! and handed me half the books. Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors, we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous! Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, "Hey, big guy, you'll be great!" He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. "Thanks," he said. As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began "Graduation is a time to t hank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends... I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story." I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. "Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable." I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment. I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize it's depth. Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life. For better or for worse. God puts us all in each others lives to impact one another in some way. Look for God in others. "Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly." There is no beginning or end. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why they call it the Present. It's National Friendship Week. Show your friends how much you care. Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND. If it comes back to you, then you'll know you have a circle of friends.

Jay Baba.... i was told that a group of 'Baba-lovers' from Heydarabad are coming here, so it is time for me to move out and vacate the place for them. ... will visit Farrukhabad for the 'Baba-mella' on the coming weekend and then will decide where to go from there. Monsoon is on the way and travelling with such heavy luggage will be difficult. We will see how it will develpoe....

Baba's mandalis ..............
Jay Baba, it is about 7 pm and i am getting tired of sitting here for more than 7 hours! With a help of a brother in Tehran, could get a bit clear about HTML codes, so i can change the 'face' of this blog, just some 'make-up'..... hope i do not make it 'blind'!!! As you see there is a Google search box, which will change soon (want to have a SEARCH for INSIDE this blog, TOO)it will be a rather 'long process' (of learning how to manipulate these code!) but i think it worth the effort..... Reading Mehera Meher at nights is such a wonderful experience...... now life is only these two things, reading about Babaji (from Mehera's eyes) and studing 'technical stuff' to make this 'sapce' more useful and colorful..... thanks to Baba and His 'lovers' in Deheradun to make it possible.... Tony Griss is moving in Meher Prasad from tomorrow, and it can change the present routine a bit....... in His Service..... .... yes, it is 'cool & easy' NOW, but when i read about Baba's mandalis and the tests and the hardships they had to go through, just to stay with Him, i feel 'relieved'! Who is a ‘Baba-lover’? (1)
Found an article in Beloved Baba Magazine, May/June 1996, by Dr. H. L. Kenmore, New York, on this word, ‘Baba-lover’. Since it is very close to what I always felt, I use parts of it (it is a long article) to express the idea/feeling. It starts with this paragraph: “In ancient times, people were worshipers of God. Centuries passed, they then became believers of God, today we are living is a turbulent and violent age. At the height of our difficulties the challenge has been issued by the Avatar __the God-Man to a humanity a sleep in its illusory world to buck-up, to hurry-up, to awaken; because now is the time to become lovers of God. In this era, our Avatar appeals to our maturity in insisting that we become lovers of Meher Baba: Baba-lovers. Then, he uses another question in order to answer the above question, ‘who is a Baba-lover? He questions, “ What is a baseball player?”...... enough for now, and more on this topic later.....
